The Wolf Among Us: A Telltale Games Series - Season 1

An episodic adventure game based on the popular Fables comic book series. The Wolf Among Us was developed by Telltale Games, studio that used the same mechanics as in its previous title, The Walking Dead. The protagonists are fairy creatures that were forced to look for a safe haven in the human world where they must hide their true nature. During the game the player can encounter many characters known from the comic books – including the Big Bad Wolf, Snow White or Ichabod Crane. The gameplay is focused mostly on visiting locations, conversing with NPCs, solving riddles and making hard decisions. The Wolf Among Us employs comic book-like visuals and, as usual, cel-shading.

Developed by the thatgamecompany studio, Journey is a remarkably unique exploration game, in which we embark on a journey through the desert sands. Our goal is to reach the summit of a great mountain, constantly visible on the horizon. A distinctive feature of Journey is the fact that we do not get a lot of exposure - the production lacks a classic narrative and does not have any dialogues; the nature of our protagonist and of the world we are in, which once harbored a mighty civilization, is all but unknown to us, a mystery, the true nature of which we can only speculate. The game consists of semi-open levels, which contain various puzzles and hidden locations. After passing through each of them we arrive at the next stage and the accompanying cut-scenes allow us to gradually discover and interpret the subsequent fragments of the plot. Journey also has one very intriguing curio - while playing the online mode we can encounter other players and at any time start playing in the co-op mode - but we still have to make do without verbal communication. All of the above is distinguished by an unusual, melancholic atmosphere and very artistic visuals, with focus on a minimalistic but incisive graphic style.

In Oddventure we play as rebelious Charlie and her friends, completing quests, solving puzzles and participating in turn-based battles. Combat in the game may end with enemies running away from the battlefield or rewarding us for sparing their lives.

The production tells the story of two brothers travelling through picturesque lands in search of medicine for their sick father. During the game, we control both characters at the same time, and most of the challenges we face require their close cooperation.

Forest of Sleep tells a story of three children on a journey through a land filled with magical creatures. Our heroes must traverse enchanted forests, visit bizarre kingdoms, fulfill unusual requests from NPCs and sing many songs during campfire nights. There are no arcade elements in the game, so we mainly explore and solve puzzles, while our interactions with NPCs and items play a major role, dynamically shaping the story. What makes Forest of Sleep stand out the most, though, is the lack of typical narration and dialogues, as well as its unique visuals that are reminiscent of children's books.

A classic point ’n’ click adventure game and the debut project from an independent studio LightDrop Games. The developers were inspired by the tale of Red Riding Hood – the player assumes the role of Molly, a girl who decides to visit her grandmother living in the city. Unfortunately, granny has fallen ill. The only medicine able to help her is the edelweiss flower, which grows high in the mountains. The protagonist embarks on a journey to find this rare plant. The adventure leads her through medieval forests, caves, and aforementioned mountaintops. Brave & Little Adventure consists of six chapters, in which the players explore charming locations while completing various tasks given by encountered neutral characters. Additionally, the key to success lies in solving various logical and environmental riddles, as well as sneaking behind certain enemies’ backs. The title is characterized by two-dimensional, colorful visuals and nice character animations. The authors’ vision is completed by a memorable, climatic soundtrack.
