Simulation games. These titles put emphasis on simulating authentic (or fictional) actions in the most realistic manner possible. They allow the player e.g. to control civil (digger, crane, bus) or military vehicles (plane, tank, warship). Life simulation games (especially The Sims series) are very specific example of titles in this category, because they can simulate almost infinite number of aspects of human lives.

The authors focused on realism, thanks to which every virtual plane behaves in the air just like its equivalent in reality. New are the elements of RPG in the form of a pilot development system.

A mix of simulation and strategy game developed by the independent studio Killerfish Games. The plot is loosely based on Tom Clancy’s works, telling an alternative version of history, in which the Cold War eventually turned into World War III. The player assumes the role of a submarine captain and tries to stop the Soviet Union’s plans to establish an outpost in Scandinavia. Mission objectives focus on fighting enemy naval and land units, preventing sea landings, and raiding convoys.

A simulation game revolving around trains. In Train Planet we gain access to various types of trains and locomotives, exploring different locations. We can play many roles, including a train driver or a conductor. The game puts heavy focus on maintaining high realism.

Modern Naval Warfare is a modern-day nuclear-powered submarine simulator. The game allows you to take on the role of the captain of the unit, and in multiplayer mode other players can take on the other roles in the crew.
SimRail: The Railway Simulator
