Action games. Wide category of games that require reflex, accuracy and agility. It includes, among other things, shooters (e.g. Call of Duty and Battlefield series) and action-adventure games (Tomb Raider). First and third person perspective (FPP/TPP) is used. In most cases we are playing as a character who has to defeat some enemies and reach a specific point. We can use a wide range of weapons, including pistols, rocket launchers, swords, knives and like. Action-adventure is a particular category within action games genre. Such titles put less emphasis on action and combat, focusing more on story, exploration and puzzles.

Black Mesa

In terms of plot, the production is a faithful recreation of the original game and tells the story of Gordon Freeman, a physicist, and his struggle for survival in the titular Black Mesa Research Facility invaded by mysterious beings from another dimension.
Wolfenstein: The New Order

A first-person shooter and the seventh major installment in the Wolfenstein series. This one was developed by Swedish studio Machine Games, founded by former members of Starbreeze Studios. Wolfenstein: The New Order tells an alternative history of the World War II, where the Third Reich won. The game’s main hero is B. J. Blazkowicz, a veteran of the American special forces. After spending 20 years in cryosleep, he has to stand up to the Nazis once more.
Dishonored: The Brigmore Witches

The second story expansion for Dishonored, a stealth action game created by Arkane. It continues the story of the first expansion - The Knife of Dunwall. Again, we play as the assassin of the empress, Daud, who departs for the lair of a witch by the name of Delilah in order to prevent her from carrying out a ritual that would allow for his final condemnation.
Batman: Arkham City - Harley Quinn's Revenge

Yakuza 0

Another installment in the popular action game series, known as the Japan’s take on the Grand Theft Auto series. This time, the developers from SEGA created a prequel of the whole series, taking place in 1988, seven years before the events seen in the first installment. The plot of Yakuza 0 focuses on young Kazuma Kiryu, the series' protagonist, as he began his journey to become a legend in the Japanese underworld.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Lost Alpha

A fan-made modification of the first installment in the popular series of shooters set in a post-apocalyptic reality and inspired by science-fiction works of Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. The mod is based on the final version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, which introduced many changes and simplifications to the gameplay, earning itself disapproval of the fans in this respect.
BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea - Episode Two

However, this time we play not as Booker DeWitt but Elisabeth, who was previously an independent character, herself. The heroine wakes up in unknown circumstances with a pistol aimed at her face. She makes a promise which saves her from death. According to this obligation, she is supposed to help a group of people led by Atlas in their return to the underwater city of Rapture.
Critical Ops

A dynamic online shooter game, often referred to as a mobile CS. Critical Ops was made by Finnish studio Critical Force Entertainment, known for a similar production - Critical Strike portable. The game is available for free, but features optional microtransactions; only purely cosmetic items can be bought for real-world money. The gameplay consists of battles involving anti-terrorist and terrorist forces, taking place on dedicated maps.
The Terminator: Future Shock

The next installment of Bethesda's series of first-person action games, based on the license of the cult science fiction Terminator movie series. In the game we play the role of a hero freed by the resistance movement, who decides to join the fighting fighters and stop the criminal artificial intelligence of Skynet, which experiments with time. Technically, the game is a big step forward, offering a richly textured 3D environment and the ability to look around freely with the mouse.
Holdfast: Nations at War

A historical action game, in which you participate in multiplayer land and naval battles. The production was developed by Anvil Games, the members of which worked on Mount & Blade: Warband – Napoleonic Wars. Regardless of whether the battle takes place on land or at sea, the key aspect of the game is the cooperation between teammates. Both battle types feature soldiers of various classes with distinct characteristics and roles.
Syphon Filter 2

Three-dimensional action game, in which a lot of emphasis was placed on the stealth aspects. The title continues the threads presented in the first installment of the cycle. New is the multiplayer module, in which two players can face each other in duels to the death and life.
Ghost of Tsushima

An action sandbox game developed by Sucker Punch, the creators of the InFamous series. The player is taken to the titular island of Tshishima, where as a samurai he or she fights the Mongol invaders in order to avenge the death of family and close ones. A direct confrontation isn’t always the best course of action. To effectively eliminate opponents, the protagonist must learn to work in the shadows.
Hitman: Definitive Edition

The Action of Wolfenstein: The New Colossus is set in 1961 – after waking up from a coma B.J. Blazkowicz and his companions find the United States of America occupied by the Nazis. The main protagonist finds common ground with the leaders of the local resistance, and decides to help them fight the invaders.
Medal of Honor (1999)

The action takes place in the final period of the war and our hero's task is to perform various tasks in such countries as France, Germany and Norway.
Fury Unleashed

A dynamic action platform game with roguelike features. The game was developed by the Polish studio Awesome Games. In Badass Hero the action is presented from a side perspective. The game focuses on exploration of a randomly generated comic book-like world, avoiding many traps and obstacles, and on combat with encountered enemies. The protagonist can use various shotguns, machine guns, rocket launchers, and grenade launchers.
Devil Daggers

A first-person shooter which casts the player in the role of a character sent to eternal damnation in hell. In the center, there is an arena where stigmatized souls fight hordes of demons and other devil spawn. The player eliminates subsequent waves of enemies, gains new weaponry and acquires new abilities during his fight for survival. The protagonist dies very often here, for the game is characterized by high difficulty level, thus the player is bound to start over numerous times.
Resident Evil VII: Biohazard

Seventh major installment in the cult series of survival horrors created by Capcom and launched in year 1996 on the PlayStation console. Subsequent parts of this long-standing series concentrate on a battle the humanity wages against a deadly virus which transforms those it infects into bloodthirsty monsters. The players accompany several characters who appeared in various installments of Resident Evil over the years as well as in many side installments.
Shadow of the Colossus HD

Compared to the original, the production can boast primarily higher quality graphics (mainly due to the increase in resolution to 1080p), the use of stereoscopic 3D technology and a set of trophies.
The Expendabros

The new version was developed by the creators of the original game – Free Lives studio – to commemorate the premiere of the action movie The Expendables 3. The story of the game recreates the events shown in the movie during which the eponymous team of tough guys faces the merciless arms dealer Condrad Stonebanks, the founder of Expendables.
Postal 2: Paradise Lost

Postal 2: Paradise Lost is the second official expansion for Postal 2. It was released twelve years after the base game was released, which is quite unusual, to say the least. The game takes place eleven years after the events of the first expansion, Apocalypse Weekend. Once again, we end up in Paradise City, ruled by chaos and anarchy after the nuclear attack. Our job is to bring back peace and order. To do so, we have to face the self-proclaimed separatists.
