Digital Combat Simulator World Description
DCS: World for PC is a free interface that combines all products of the Digital Combat Simulator series. It was developed by the Russian studio Eagle Dynamics.
Mechanics
Digital Combat Simulator is a series that includes such productions as the Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark, Digital Combat Simulator: A-10C Warthog, Digital Combat Simulator: A-10C Warthog, and LockON: Flaming Cliffs 3 flight simulators or the war strategy game Digital Combat Simulator: Combined Arms. The hallmark of the cycle is the fact that all of its installments are compatible and owners of different ones play on the same servers. As the list of titles grew, keeping order became difficult, and so Eagle Dynamics developed an application that makes it easier.
DCS: World works like a sort of an operating system for the Digital Combat Simulator series. It provides a common service with a simple interface to which all installments of the franchise are attached. The program combines individual products into a single installation and manages their data, which not only improves cooperation between the games but also updates them automatically. The application also supports mods. Furthermore, DCS: World for PC offers its own mission editor, separate training missions, a match recording system, and a matchmaking mechanism.
Apart from using the Digital Combat Simulator games’ data, DCS: World comes with its own content. It includes the fully playable soviet two-engine attack aircraft Su-25T. We can use above the area where the 2008’s Russian invasion of Georgia took place.
