Transfers are another important feature that you will have to deal with during your career in Football Manager 2019. Finding the right players for your club will not be that easy, and negotiating a contract will save you a lot of money that you can spend on something else. In this chapter, you will learn how to lead negotiations and how to buy, sell and loan players.

Buying a player

Before you buy the right player you must first offer a buy-in price and if you come to an agreement with the club and the negotiations are successful, you will be able to start negotiating the contract. When proposing the player's buy-in price, it is worth removing the clause, that obliges you' to give away a part of your profit from the next sale of that player. This will enable you to save a certain amount of money in the future.

Negotiating a contract

The first and most important rule when negotiating a contract is: NEVER agree to the first offer because it's always overpriced, and every agent wants to get as much money from you as possible. Remember that your budget is always tight and you can't afford to spend cash on left and right. When sending a counteroffer you must keep in mind the fact that now is the moment when the player will make the decision whether to move to your club or not, so try to offer reasonable prices, and not such ones that would discourage your soon-to-be-player.

Selling a player

During the season there may be a situation in which you have some unnecessary players or you'll want to make room in the club for other players. When you make a decision to sell team member, do your best to earn money on it. Put a player on the transfer list and wait for someone to make an offer. You can also choose an option in which the player will be offered to other clubs, so that information about their sale will be sent to potential buyers.

Loaning a player

Loaning players is a good option for less wealthy clubs. For a relatively small amount of money (or without any payment) you can significantly increase the level of your team. A borrowed player stays in the club for a certain period of time, and in case of certain clauses, he can be returned. If you have a large team and some promising talents, consider loaning them to another club to allow them to get some experience. Thanks to such option, you'll save a bit of money on their salaries, only to get seasoned players later on.
