The players train throughout the entire season, except for periods of vacation, convalescence and pre- and post-match breaks. Therefore, the proper set up and balancing of a training schedule has a huge impact on the fitness of your players, their attributes, as well as their satisfaction with their own performance in the team. Training in Football Manager 2019 can be divided into three categories:
- Team training - applies to the entire team.
- Individual training - applies to a specific player. In this kind of training, you try to teach the player new moves or prepare him to play in a different position.

Traingin in Football Maanager 2019 guide:
Training calendar - basics
The training calendar has been divided into one-week blocks (schedules), and you can plan 7 training days in each. What is very important, each training day comprises of 3 training sessions. You should pay extra care not to set all 3 sessions every day through the whole week, because the players will be overworked, dissatisfied and prone to injuries. The last training block in a given day comprises the evening so it is worth to allocate some rest here.
Training units
When you create a training plan, you can consider 3 training units: offensive players, defensive players and goalkeepers. It should be noted here that you can freely move players between teams if they can play on the same position - this is particularly for middle field players.
This is important because when choosing a particular type of training, you choose between offensive and defensive aspects, i.e. between the respective training units. If you want players from the offensive unit to practice with the defensive unit in a given training, you must transfer them to the appropriate group.
Intensity
Another very important thing when planning training is intensity. Try not to plan too many activities that will lower the satisfaction of your players, but also don't make their lives easier than necessary by scheduling nothing but training. Also, make sure that your players have no more than 2 very intensive days during a training week.
Mentoring program
In the mentoring program, you can add one or more experienced players and some promising young players who will learn from them. A mentor can be a team member who has an established position in the club, is an influential and determined player.
Team training
Team training, as the name suggests, applies to the entire team. During such trainings, your players can train specific aspects, such as tactics. When planning a training session, you can choose its intensity by appropriate changes to the training plan. You can also decide when the players have to rest. When planning a rest, it's first necessary to pay attention to the players getting a day off after the match. Team training can also include a pre-match training. The difference between general and pre-match training concerns the preparatory time during which the attributes are improved. In case of pre-match training, the increase of attributes is only temporary and is associated with the upcoming meeting. This is especially important before a very important cup match to which you want to be properly prepared as a team.
Individual training
Individual training allows for the development of specific traits in selected players, which will prepare them better to perform a specific role on the field. Individual training can be divided into the following categories:
- Training selected player attributes.
- Training specific traits related to the role of the player.
- Learning a favorite element.
During individual training, pay special attention to have the player train in accordance with their role on the field. For example, if you have side defenders who like to join offensive actions near the sideline, you should consider developing their speed.
