Chickens Farming Simulator 15 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
The first activity connected to animals that you will probably start is keeping chickens. It is because of two simple reasons: chickens are the cheapest animals in the game, so buying a lot of them is not a great expenditure. Moreover, you don't have you pay any attention to them - they find food on their own and just bring you eggs. To buy a chicken, enter the animals tab in the shopping menu (the cost of one chicken is 70$).
When you buy a chicken, it will automatically appear in the coop, which is located on your starting farm. As it was mentioned before, chickens do not require any attention and your only task is to pick up the eggs that they give. To do that, you just need to enter the chicken coop and run around for a while - the eggs are lying on the ground in various place and you will obtain them by simply running over them. Using sprint [SHIFT], you will be able to finish this task very quickly and the eggs that you collect will appear in your backpack. You can check the status of the product through your PDA [I], in the Animals tab. There, you will find info about your chickens and the eggs - the ones in the coop (number 60 tells you that you have to go pick up the eggs, as new ones will not appear until you do that), as well as the ones in your backpack (which you can sell). Every chicken gives you at least one egg per day.
When you collect the eggs, you should also sell them. In order to do that, go to one of the shops on the map, which are marked by a special icon. You will find a blue icon in front of the entrance - just walk into it and all the eggs that you have in your backpack will be sold. The price is 11,5$, so go to the shop only when you have a lot of eggs, so you don't waste your time.
Keeping chickens is very easy and unabsorbing. Just buy as many as you want to have and start to regularly collect eggs and sell them. However, this activity is generally abandoned at later stages of the game, because of the need to run around the coop and pick up eggs. Having to do that all the time gets boring and the profits are not very large. Despite that, you can make some money on chickens at the beginning of the game. It is not a high cost and you can collect the eggs once a day. Remember - the profit is small, so do not sacrifice a lot of time to this activity, especially when you've already developed your farm to a higher level.
Requirements: buying the chickens (70$ for one bird)
Recommended amount: 60 chickens (4200$)
Profit: With the recommended amount of chickens, the profit is 60 x 11,5$ (for an egg) = 690$. The investment pays off after less then a weak and after that, you can spend this money on machines maintenance. Remember that you have to collect eggs every day, but you can sell them once every few days.
Advantages:
- chickens don't require any attention,
- you will use some steady profit at the beginning of the game,
Disadvantages:
- having to collect eggs and sell them at the shop,
- later in the game, the profit is too small.
