Agricultural machinery | Machines Farming Simulator 18 Guide
Last update: 05 July 2017
In this chapter you can learn about different agricultural machines and what are the differences between their models. Here, you can read about fertilizer vehicles, cultivators and planting vehicles.
Cultivators and planting vehicles
In this game you only need cultivators that are used for soil loosening (there are no plows in this game). There are only two available models that differ in width and how much additional burden they add. You must always cultivate your fields after harvesting.
Using planting vehicles results in given vegetables/grains to grow on a field. Two from the available models are used for planting seeds of most of the crops that are in the game and just like a cultivator their only difference is the size of planted area during one ride. However, if you want to plant potatoes you need to use a special planting vehicle that is used only for those vegetables, you can find it in the same category as the last machine.
Fertilizing
In order to fertilize a field you can use various machines. They are divided into three categories and in each one of them you can find two machines - those, that are of the same type differ in the size of fertilized area and fertilizer capacity. Fertilizers increases your crops by about 30% but they have no impact on how fast something can grow. Artificial fertilizer must be refilled in your base and it costs a lot. However, it is a very fast method for increasing your crops. The second option is to use slurry - you can only get it by selling grass, straws or chaffs in biogas installation. There, you also have to refill your machine. The third option is to use a natural fertilizer that is created from straws and animal feces (cows or pigs). You can load it by placing your fertilizer machine on fertilizer icon near your breeding area.
