Despite a very different Internet and much less accessibility to information, it was a no secret that Dungeon Keeper was going through his very own reality of "production process hell" The game was supposed to be Peter Molyneux's last project for Bullfrog studio, because after the company was taken over, the famous creator had enough of corporate meetings and reports to EA. He announced his decision to leave in 1996, so the bosses told him to pack up his things and go. Molyneux didn't want to loose control of the project, so he moved the entire development team to his home, where work on the game was completed over the course of a year. Later, after many years, Peter recalled that leaving Bullfrog was stupid and he did it while drunk.
Looking at the later achievements of this famous creator, we must say that he didn't lost his talent for making bad decisions, but Dungeon Keeper will always be remembered as an extraordinary and unique experience in every aspect. Molyneux reportedly came up with the idea for a game about guarding dungeons from knights in shining armors while stuck in traffic, and got so lost in thought that he completely lost touch with reality. It was decided to set the action in the realities of Dungeons & Dragons, seasoning everything with a specific humor. In connection with the fact that this was supposed to be the farewell project of the studio head, Molyneux really wanted it to be perfect in every inch. Then he succeeded.
