7. The Lord of the Rings Online. The best Lord of the Rings video games

My adventure with The Lord of the Rings Online ended as soon as it began. This production only assured me that MMORPG is not my cup of tea. The only thing I remember from it is the atmosphere of Middle-earth. Still, I didn't think that this title would survive for fifteen years on the market. But it did, and it's constantly supported, attracting a large group of players.

In retrospect, this is not that surprising. Despite so many years, LotRO still looks good – although crude character models clearly contrast with the nice surroundings – and what's more, more and more fragments of the game become free. Although you have to pay for newer additions, the free content can last for such a long time that no one should accuse the creators of greed.

The Lord of the Rings Online today is still a good idea because it remains the only MMORPG set in the Lord of the Rings universe. Amazon Games studio planned to release its own production of this type – and this intent lasted for about two years – unfortunately, the project ended with the acquisition of Leyou studio, involved in the development of the game, by Tencent, and the withdrawal of the license by Middle -earth Enterprises – the owner of the franchise. In other words, beggars ain't choosers...
