What's Serious Sam 4?
The fourth full-fledged installment of the popular series of first-person shooters. The series was born in 2001 and over the following years, in addition to sequels, there have been a number of reissues and unusual spin-offs such as JRPGs and endless runners. The Croatian Croteam has been responsible for the brand since the very beginning.
Whats the story in Serious Sam 4?
The story was never very important in the Serious Sam games and it's similar this time. Nevertheless, the creators decided to give it a little more attention and hired Jonas Kyratzes to write it – he became known as a gifted storyteller with the remarkable The Talos Principle. The action takes place before the third installment of the series, and depicts the origins of Mental's alien invasion of Earth. The only chance for humanity to survive against a lightning-fast enemy is the eponymous Sam and the soldiers he commands from the Earth Defense Force.
What's gameplay like In Serious Sam 4?
The game remains true to the traditions of the series and focuses on dynamic action in the style of classic first-person shooter games. During the game we will find large maps, that can host as many as 10 thousand enemies at any given time. We will deal with them with an arsenal of powerful weapons and power-ups. A motorcycle will be a big novelty, allowing us to travel faster. We will play Serious Sam 4 alone or in co-op mode with up to three friends.
OUR EXPECTATIONS
The Serious Sam series is proof that old ideas can still be entertaining and cherished by players. We all know exactly what we're going to get in the sequel – legions of enemies, bombers shouting "Aaaaa!" and great locations full of secrets. Sam is going to continue to deliver unabashed jokes, and we're going to wonder if we have enough ammunition for the incoming harpies. Well, fans of the series should be very pleased – but in the era of the latest Doom and Wolfenstein, maybe it's time to get a bit fresher than this.
