Half-Life: Alyx in a nutshell

Created for the VR, this is a spin-off of the iconic Half-Life FPS series. The action of the game will explore the events that occurred between the first and second installments of the series, and will allow you to bring the famous Alix Vance to life. Unlike typical VR games that offer fairly short story campaigns, it will take a comparable amount of time as Half-Life 2 to complete the new game created by Valve.

What’s gameplay like in Half-Life: Alyx?

This production will use the VR technology that allows you to control the camera using head movements and translates the gestures of your hands. You can even lean out from behind walls or dodge bullets by moving your entire body. The gameplay itself will traditionally consist of fighting opponents using an arsenal of various weapons, as well as exploring the environment and solving environmental puzzles.

OUR EXPECTATIONS

Half-Life is a cycle that always evokes huge emotions – mostly from slightly older players, who still remember playing it. However, Alix is unique, even for Half-Life. This is more than just another first-person shooter. This is a kind of experiment that will give virtual reality a run for the money. The first trailer made a big impression on the players, but we know that trailers have their own rules. Only after the launch of the game will we be able to really evaluate it, and I'm very curious whether the work of Valve Software will be a product mature enough to boost the entire VR.
