Prince of Persia is another representative of the classic that was frozen by Ubisoft, of which the players expect a new installment. The first part was released so long ago as 1989. A platform game with the story drawing in handfuls from the exotic Book of One Thousand and One Nights and the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark , instantly became a hit. After the so-called original trilogy at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, Ubisoft obtained the rights to the brand, later publishing its Sands of Time trilogy . The trilogy received a remastered release on PS3 and had its share of spin-offs and mobile titles, and even a high-budget Hollywood blockbuster was centered around it. But the last fully-fledged part of the series is the 2010 Forgotten Sands .
Unfortunately, the plans for a new Prince died in their tracks. That may be because it didn't receive any rave reviews. The Hollywood movie with Jake Gyllenhaal, which, according to Jerry Bruckheimer, was supposed to be similarly successful as Pirates of the Caribbean , did not help the brand but - in short - did not "deliver". Ubisoft forgot about PoP , but nowadays, we are hearing of a Sands of Time remake. . Recently, however, we learned that the work on this game was very slow and instead of almost being released, Ubisoft had to change the developer and restart the project from the start. Too bad. A well-produced remake would certainly remind everyone of the series and break ground for new, fully-fledged titles.
