RimWorld. Games with most playtime on Steam
Table of Contents
- Release Date: October 17, 2018
- Average Steam user time in game: over 100 hours
- Network gameplay: none
- Mod support: yes
The Kickstarter project (originally named Eclipse Colony) needed as long as five years of early access to finally reach players in its full version. However, it was not a lost time, as during this period the title developed according to the ideas of the community while gaining ever-growing popularity.
The success of RimWorld can be attributed to the unpredictability of this title. The stories of what happened to our charges draw you in anew with every game, and there is a large number of ingenious mods that only add to the variables. Instead of impersonal people who artificially populate our buildings, we have unique characters whose fates you simply want to follow. This original approach made players not focus on the numerous shortcomings of this production, but spend hours upon hours looking after their small community of colonists. We warned you in our review - it is terribly engrossing! In this case, the stats from SteamSpy speak for themselves.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
- Release date: November 11, 2011
- Average Steam user time in the game: almost 100 hours
- Network gameplay: none
- Mod support: yes
The last big installment of The Elder Scrolls series took us to a huge world filled not only with monsters and treasures, but also with stories of ordinary people (and representatives of other races) who try to survive in these brutal realities. Numerous changes in relation to the cult predecessors did "the fifth" good and today this part is considered one of the best in the series. But that's not the only reason it ranks so high on our list.
Skyrim has hit every major gaming hardware, but PCs seem to be the best platform to experience this title. In addition to the dozens of hours that can be easily accumulated while traversing the game world in the standard campaign, on PC we also have access to hundreds of mods. You will find among them everything your heart desires. From brand new stories, graphic tweaks and several hundred fresh spells, to turning dragon models into the cartoon characters from Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends - players' ingenuity knows no bounds. In light of the above, could a place on this list surprise anyone?
Fallout 4
- Release Date: November 10, 2015
- Average Steam user time in the game: 80 hours
- Network gameplay: none
- Mod support: yes
Fans of the Fallout series didn't have it easy with "four". The RPG mechanics here have been heavily trimmed and the shooting expanded. As a result, we are left with an FPS with RPG elements and a junkyard simulator (compared to Fallout 76, it's still a masterpiece). All this, however, did not prevent the game from collecting excellent ratings and selling millions of copies. How is it possible for a first-person shooter to last people so long?
The developer may have let the players down in some respects, but they certainly managed to build a great open world and fill it with attractions. What's more, the expansions released in the meantime let you delve even deeper into the Fallout 4 universe, and numerous mods make you come back for more. Whatever one may say about this title, it would be unfounded to accuse it of unsatisfying content. Combined with the love for the brand, we got a game that the average gamer can't tear themselves away from.
Monster Hunter: World
- Release Date: August 9, 2018
- Average Steam user time in game: over 70 hours
- Network gameplay: yes
- Mod support: yes
The Monster Hunter series has always been aimed at hardcore gamers who could spend hundreds of hours grinding and only half an hour clashing with monsters. No wonder, after all, you have to find time to learn various fighting styles, look for the beasts' weak points, or prepare for a boss encounter. Fortunately, "MonHun" decided to leave its niche and try to reach a wider audience with last year's installment called World.
The developers of the last Monster Hunter tried to make the game more accessible to players unfamiliar with the series, while maintaining a high level of complexity and gameplay difficulty. The effect achieved is excellent. Players take a keen interest in a beautiful and wild world, then spend entire weekends in it because they "got a little forgetful." And then a quick round in the morning, an equally quick sick leave... What do these games do to a person? Let's add that Monster Hunter World provided Capcom with real success. The game has sold 12 million copies - the best result in the company's history, according to official figures.
