Another item on our list is one of the most famous animations in the cyberpunk genre. The film is based on a manga created by Masamune Shirow, one of the most respected cartoonists in Japan. From the day of its release, the anime delighted with its unique, philosophical depth and quickly became a global phenomenon. The book is steeped in long deliberations about the meaning of existence and humanity, which is why I would not recommend it to the youngest audience.
The plot is undoubtedly one of the strongest suitsof this production. The story in Ghost in the Shell focuses on one of the investigations conducted by a special unit of internal services, Section 9. It concerns the actions of the Puppet Master – a hacker suspected of a whole series of crimes, including hacking human brains. Section 9 is also principally unrestrained. It uses cyborgs, one of which is agent Motoko Kusanagi, a monument of cutting-edge technology.
Future in Ghost in the Shell
This anime hits the viewer with a depressing aura from the very beginning. It's a vision of the future where technology has mastered every aspect of life. It's a classic cyberpunk story world full of robots, strange implants and dangerously influential people. Here, cybernetics turn out to be the most rapidly developing branch of industry. Astonishingly, the picture becomes more and more relevant as the years go by. Humanoid-machines are still only a figment of pop-culture imagination, but we can bear witness its coming into reality. Who knows, maybe the future shown by Mamoru Oshi is not so impossible?
