During the game, you will surely find a lot of all accessories for weapons and many runic attacks. It's worth prompting the inventory menu every time you collect an item like that. You also don't need a workshop to start using them. They may offer a good solution to defeating trickier opponents.

Then, there are also the runic attacks – these can also be swapped and improved. This works in a similar fashion to acquiring skills (through spending XP). All you need to do is go to the Weapons menu, select the rune attack that suits you, and then spend XP on an upgrade.
