Mount & Blade Series. Players show developers how to make games
Table of Contents
If you've ever been interested in the Mount & Blade series, you know there are modifications here that completely transform these productions. Finding a simple mod to add a new sword or armor will be difficult – the series supports a whole bunch of total conversions. The basic premise of the game is the ideal foundation for such projects. An open-world, a pinch of RPG elements, a strategic map, and dynamic battles – just throw in an interesting universe.
Thus, the engine of the first Mount and Blade and Warband allowed us to travel to Middle-Earth from The Lord of the Rings, the galaxy from Star Wars or 13th-century Europe. There is also no shortage of original worlds, the leading example of which is the rich universe of Prophesy of Pendor, full of cultures, religions, and characters invented from the ground up. The changes include not only the map and units but also the game mechanics – some modifications introduce automatic rifles and others allow spells to be cast.
Multiple projects can be presented in this way. Have you completed all the items set in your favorite universe yet? Dig among the mods for the Mount & Blade series – you'll probably find something for yourself there.
BANNERLORD ALSO HAS MODS
While today's modifications to Bannerland do not impress, modders are successively tweaking Warband's successor and getting ready to start serious projects. We covered this topic in an article on the mods for the second Mount and Blade.
