Gothic Series. Players show developers how to make games
Table of Contents
I am not sure if Gothic games are more talked about, played, or modified. The German studio's productions (or, actually, the first and second installments of the series along with the addition) have been loved by the fans – and while the object of this love limps a little, it makes up for it with its atmosphere and incredible universe. The gaps are also filled by great, elaborate mods for both parts of the series – either enriching the original games or offering entirely new content. Moreover, many players make a significant contribution to the modding scene.
Perhaps the most popular example of Polish mods is the Dark Mysteries to the first Gothic. This mod complements the game's basic storyline, and also tells an additional story involving ancient beings serving Innos. The whole thing takes place in new camps involving dozens of hitherto unknown characters. Plus, we get plenty of fresh weaponry and magic. And this is just one example from years ago because the series is still eagerly moderated today. The History of Khorinis and The Chronicles of Myrtana are set to premiere later this year. Let's hope we don't get surprised by the news such as the split of the SoulFire group.
