Immersion in the game world. Does Assassin's Creed need serious changes? Our thoughts versus Ubisoft dev

Some play games for fun, while others want to relax or escape to a different reality and get immersed in it completely. Particularly in the latter case, the Assassin's Creed series has always offered an exceptional experience. The attention to detail when recreating the cities, the most important buildings, clothes, customs and dialects, meant that each new title, apart from providing entertainment, was also a decent history lesson. The series created a coherent world, which not only "looked nice", but simply made ??sense. So why are we even discussing this point in the article? Problems appear when developers still place individual solutions in times where they don't belong in the name of continuity. As we could already see in Unity, running among the ragged crowds in colorful hooded capes was out of place, and the upcoming Syndicate has a lot to answer for in this matter as well. Although costumes are not as flashy, our character still stands out against other people, and all those ever-present haystacks (in industrial London!) are an element that is rather fishy in terms of the image of the given times. According to the authors, allegations of this type are wrong and the aforementioned hay was not placed on the streets out of plain laziness.
In the period depicted in Syndicate there were still 10,000 horses in London on a regular basis. Therefore hay was certainly there and it’s definitely not out of place. If we set the game in the 21st century, then I would totally agree that haystacks shouldn’t be there. (…) Let’s also remember the role of such elements – it’s still our classic hiding spot, used to escape or to assassin enemies from, or to break our fall from synchronization points. They have an iconic status within the franchise.
