Nintendo fans like farming games. The Harvest Moon series has been a popular title on the company's portable consoles for years, but the slightly more niche, but equally great My Time at Portia is also worth mentioning here. Of all games of this genre, Stardew Valley is the best title available on the Switch (well, maybe except for one game, which we'll discuss later).
Your protagonist, tired of their corporate job, leaves and resolves to carry out their grandfather's dying wish, which was to take over his farm and tend to it after his passing. The daily, white-collar routine is replaced with a daily struggle to survive in the countryside and restore the run-down property to its former glory.
Most of the time is spent on managing and developing our farm. However, in keeping with the Harvest Moon formula, the tedium of running the farm is combined with RPG elements, meaning that, apart from simple farming activities, the game also offers more diverse challenges, including, of course, defending your territory against all kinds of dangerous creatures.
