Destiny 2. Best free-to-play PS5 games

Table of Contents

IN A NUTSHELL

  1. Genre: looter shooter with MMO elements
  2. Can you have a good time for free: yes, but only up to a point, new add-ons are not for free - a lot of players says that the free version is actually a demo.
  3. Does the game have improvements on PS5: yes

What is Destiny 2?

One of the more interesting shooters with MMO elements. Here we have a multi-threaded and interesting story campaign, which, it is true, can be completed solo, but the real potential is unleashed when you play multiplayer, a lot of fun is provided by collecting extremely rare weapons and armor, as well as learning the secrets of this universe.

How much of Destiny 2's free content is in 2023?

The greatest plus of free Destiny 2 was the story campaign from the basic version of the game. Unfortunately, Bungie decided to remove it, so it is not available for free-to-play players (nor for others as well). Yes, you can join more standard online gameplay, visit planets and complete various missions. The game also tempts with both quick matches on the arena and long raids requiring the involvement of six-person teams.

As you can see, there is a lot of free content in Destiny 2, but if you're gonna keep playing, it is necessary to buy expansions. In this meaning, free-to-play version is kind of a big demo, through which you can judge whether you will like the game - without spending any money.

What we get for real money?

The most important things you can buy here are large story expansions, adding a lot of new content to the game and developing the story known from the base game. Players as well can spend some money on cosmetic items and special weapon and armor packs. Luckily, most of the equipment can be unlocked through gameplay.
