Gris. The most beautiful, unusual games

Gris

  1. Release year: 2018
  2. Developer: Nomada Studio
  3. Genre: 2D platformer

With nearly 25,000 reviews on Steam and an average rating of "overwhelmingly positive" – it suggests that gamers seem to like an interesting, artistic experience where the gameplay mechanisms are far less important. In Gris, we simply traverse the in-game world, mostly absorbing the atmosphere and thus conveying the emotions of the main character. Her memories are filled with despair and hope.

Gris is distinguished by an unusual, highly cohesive artistic style, in which sharp lines, geometric figures, and completely surreal versions of familiar locations are mixed together. Everywhere we see minimalism with barely a few shades on the screen, which is not disturbed by absolutely no interface elements. The picture of the whole is complete with atmospheric music, creating at times an extraordinary music video that engulfs all senses.
