If the online hero shooter genre is already overcrowded, perhaps a single-player hero shooter with a story campaign is a good solution? This was the exact idea that came to the minds of the Saints Row series creators, thus starting a new IP - Agents of Mayhem. The titular agents fought the supervillains in an open world modeled after Seoul. Special abilities and smooth switching between the characters in the team and, above all, references to Saints Row were supposed to be the strengths of this production. However, it turned out to be mediocre.
Where did Agents of Mayhem go wrong?
Like many other spin-offs, Agents of Mayhem could not match Saints Row in any way, turning out to be another boring, mediocre production set in a large and unremarkable open world. This position disappointed with its gameplay mechanics dominated by monotonous activities one had to complete in order to earn experience points and resources. When a game with a plot begins to force players to grind unnecessarily, it is a sign that the creators did not have the ideas or resources to fill their work with interesting content. Numerous technical bugs only made the whole experience worse which translated into poor sales results.
