14 Android Games Perfect For The Summer (2021)

What are you doing this summer? Playing games, probably. That's great! Here's a set of Android games that will make any travel much less boring.

Table of Contents

Mobile gaming is a funny subject because every "real gamer" swears they don't touch it and generally mobile is the embodiment of evil. Even PC supporters are able to shake hands with console players when it comes to disregarding mobile. Meanwhile, mobile games are very popular, people playing them eagerly recommend their favorite titles to others, and most of us can name at least one game they've played themselves. So, despite our ostensible hostility, we do play mobile games.

Below, you will find the mobile games that should be perfect summer holiday companions. . . . Without going into details: here's a list of mobile games worthy of recommendation prepared especially for you.

Rebel Inc.

  1. Operating system: Android 4.4 or higher
  2. Price: free-to-play + micropayments

The creators of Plague Inc. decided to use the tried and tested formula, give it a different spin, and varied it a bit. The result was Rebel Inc., a strategy, in which we must stop the rebels from staging a coup in our country. Unlike in standard games of this type, here, we are not fighting for world domination, but have to maintain our country after a war. We must bring stability to our lands, establish law and order, and prevent revolution.

Needless to say, this task will not be easy. The game offers varied, well-defined regions with their own governors, specialized in all kinds of different fields. We have to manage resources, develop the army, meet the needs of citizens and deal with random events. Watch out for the latter especially, as they can be very irksome!

You should like it if:

  1. you like Plague Inc.;
  2. You prefer simple strategies that don't require a lot of time;
  3. You advocate violent solutions and dream of becoming a dictator.

Kingdom Rush Series

  1. Operating system: Android 4.4 or higher
  2. Price: free-to-play + micropayments

We definitely recommend any Kingdom Rush game, not just the first installment. It doesn't really matter which part of the series you play, you will still have lots of fun. Provided, of course, that you prefer tower defense with some variety. Kingdom Rush may seem like a simple game at first glance, but try to max out each map and you'll quickly see that it's not that easy!

As part of the game, we position troops at selected points on the map to stop the onslaught of enemy hordes, use special abilities, and direct the hero to assist soldiers in battle. Occasionally, we find additional objectives to complete or bosses to defeat, and all this in a specific graphic design, which is hard not to enjoy.

It is worth noting that only the first part of the series is free. Sequels are buy-to-play, but you can get them for less than $5 if you're lucky. Google Play store is also full of clones of this game, but mind you, they greatly vary in quality.

You should like it if:

  1. You like tower defense;
  2. You're a fan of maxing out levels;
  3. You prefer strategy that requires constant attention.

Monument Valley 1 and 2

  1. Operating system: Android 4.4 or higher
  2. Price: about $5

A small and seemingly simple game. The first part of the Monument Valley series tells the story of the mute princess Ida, while the second part is about the adventures of a mother traveling with her child. The stories are unrelated, but their main goal remains convergent – the characters must be brought home. This task, however, isn't so simple, as the title monuments stand in our way.

The fun in Monument Valley is interacting with the environment to create a passage for the character. Here, we have to manipulate the space, use optical illusions, or rearrange objects by rotating the screen. In this way, we solve logic puzzles and create paths. The game enjoys a minimalist, but eye-catching graphic design.

You should like it if:

  1. You like logic puzzles;
  2. You prefer brain-racking and looking for unusual solutions;
  3. You love playing with perspective that forces your grey matter to work hard.
