On this page of the Dread Hunger guide, you will find out whether dying means the end of the game.
In Dread Hunger, players can die in many ways - of starvation, from getting cold, in combat or when they are poisoned. However, death is simply one of the game mechanics and it doesn't always mean the end of the game.
When you die for the first time in a Dread Hunger game, you will end up in a cell - you will be able to talk, but you will not be able to move and your field of view will be significantly limited. In this case, you will be able to explain to each crew member who comes within range how you died and, if they trust you, they will be able to use a special key (Skeleton Key) to release you.
If you surrender after your first death or if you are freed and take the last chance but fall again, your character will remain permanently dead. In this situation, you will be able to move around the map in the form of a ghost and observe the game, but you will not be able to communicate with anyone.
