Combat in Child of Light | Basics Child of Light Guide

Last update: 05 September 2017

The battles are turn-based. A maximum of two characters can fight as much as three enemies at the same time. There is a possibility to change the characters during the battle. The attacks you mount can be aimed at one or several enemies at once.

You can also skip a battle thanks to Igniculus. If you blind the enemies with your companion's beam of light, there is no chance this enemy is going to attack you. Additionally, during a battle, Igniculus can reduce the speed of targeted creatures and heal your characters. All you have to do is to direct him towards a character and light up.

During your turn, you can attack an enemy, drink a potion, and use a shield. Moreover, you can decide to flee from the battlefield - provided you are not fighting a boss. You can interrupt enemy's turn with an attack - not all attacks work this way, mainly the basic ones. Be careful - the enemy can do the same to you.
