On this page of the guide to Battlefield 2042 you will find characteristics of Renewal - a map appearing in the game.
Renewal is located in the eastern desert of Egypt. This map has two distinct zones - desert and lush one, separated by a wall.
Because of the wall, combat looks different in each area. The desert part with the solar power plant, is a one big mountainous area. It lacks vegetation so it is difficult to hide anywhere. To counter this, use vehicles. Otherwise, you'll be dying quite often.
The second zone is more suited to infantry combat. You'll find more buildings and more vegetation, allowing you to hide almost everywhere. . Moreover, there are numerous ditches that make using vehicles difficult.
The wall separating the two areas also plays an important role on the map. There are only a few pathways leading into the zones, one of them is a capturable point. These are bottlenecks where fighting may get more fierce. Of course, this only applies if the battle is even.
