Main quest - part 2
- Follow Cairne to the Tauren village and protect him from enemy attacks (6)
- Thrall and Cairne must survive
The first Orc mission is a purely adventurous chapter. You will start the mission in the left-bottom corner of the map (1). Several units will be assigned under your command. Thrall will be the main hero of this campaign. It is worth giving this hero all useful items and tomes that may strengthen his stats. Thrall has very useful skills. He can use the Chain Lightning and damage a few enemies and summon the Spirit Wolves (Feral Spirit) who will fight at your side for 1 minute.
The Orc units are quite resilient and tough. They also have a strong attack, but it's difficult to keep them alive in this mission (you have to heal them often). Grunts are main melee combat units. They are stronger than their respective troops of Human and Undead races. Troll Headhunters are trolls are ranged units that can fight ground and flying units but have just a few health points. To heal your units you will use the items you have acquired by Thrall. Also, remember to use the Fountain of Life that you will come across in the middle of the mission.
Begin a slow exploration along the waterfront and attack neutral troops of Centaurs and Gnolls. Most enemies will drop valuable and useful items for your hero. They are also a source of experience points, which will speed up the leveling for Thrall. Near the next wreck to the east of the starting spot, you'll find more survivors who want to join your army (2).
After a short cutscene, head north to go around the hill and get to the next sunken ships. On a hill you will reach the Fountain of Life (3). Heal all your units before you march south. Don't lose the Headhunters, because it's the only unit that can attack flying units and you can't train any units yet.
After the units have been cured, it is time to meet the last group of survivors at the coast (4). At this point you should have a full team consisting of Grunts and the Headhunters. A moment later, you'll run into a group of Tauren troops leaded by Cairne. You will be given a new task - defend the Tauren village. You can leave immediately and offer your help, but your troops have arrive in the village - only then the attack will start. The battle script will be triggered after your army arrives in the village.
You can use this time to explore additional regions. It is worth going south, instead of east, and fight a battle with a large group of Murlocs (5). This is not only a source of additional experience, but also some useful items. Use the healing ward on your melee units to keep them alive during battle. Also send the summoned wolves to absorb most of the incoming damage. Small Murlocs have just a few health points, so often use Lightning to eliminate the faster.
Now it's time to defend the Tauren village (6). Once you get there, you'll have to defend yourself against a few waves of Centaurs from the north and west. In the last attack, there will be a powerful hero who has similar skills to Cairne. He can stun nearby enemies and spreads an empowering aura. Don't let your opponents get too close to the Tauren hero.
