This chapter of our guide to Warcraft 3 Reforged contains a detailed walkthrough of Cry of the Warsong mission. Orc tribes unite to face new challenges. Human troops have arrived to Kalimdor.
Main quest:
- Build a Great Hall, Thrall must survive (2)
- Destroy All hostile units at the laboratory and build two Zeppelins (5)
- The first way is to directly attack the enemy base from the front. Assemble a full team, consisting of the Grunts and the Headhunters to fight against enemy units. The second group is consisting of Riders and Catapults. The first type of units should be trained in higher quantity, as they will be useful for cleaning the laboratory. First use the Catapults to destroy the towers, and then give the order to attack the Barracks. In the meantime, let the other units cover the siege machines and engage in the fight with the garrison. It is worth destroying the Altar of Kings to prevent the hero's rebirth.
- The second way is to attack the base through the western shortcut. On this side of the base there are fewer towers, so you won't be exposed to enemy fire. Do everything in the same way as you did with the frontal attack. Catapults attack towers and production buildings, and the army clears the base from enemy units.
- In both cases, the ideal situation is when Hellscream also decides to attack this base. Two armies will defeat the enemy much faster.
- The last way is a quick raid towards the goblin laboratory. Gather a team consisting of Thrall and 6-8 Riders. If you're fast enough, your opponent's army won't be able to follow you and you can continue your attack on neutral troops (you can also ignore these opponents) and get to the lab quickly. You can also summon wolves and send them on a suicidal mission to distract the enemy army and the enemies you encounter. Now all you have to do is to defeat Harpies, buy transporters and evacuate to base.
Additional quest:
- Destroy human bases (3,4)
You start the mission at the bottom edge, in the middle of the map (1). You start fighting human forces right away and meet the allied army of Orcs. Destroy Town Hall to quickly place your base in the same place (2). Your objective in this mission is to buy the transporters in the goblin lab and bring them back to your newly established base. In the cutscene you learn about the arrangements between the tribal chiefs, but Hellscream will quickly break the rules set by Thrall.
At the beginning of the mission, focus on the expansion of the base (2). After erecting Great Hall, start mining gold and gather lumber. The Orc economy is almost identical to the model of building the base and gathering resources as in the human faction. The difference lies in the details. Only one worker can build objects and another Peon cannot help him. On the other hand, it is hidden inside the structure for the time of construction and cannot be killed.
Construct a few production buildings because Grunts take more time to train. Orc warriors cost a little more gold and need 3 units of food to keep them in battle, but two Grunts are worth as much as 3 Footmen or Ghouls. You must prepare for upcoming human attacks and for an expedition to the goblin laboratory in the north (5). It is worth creating two groups - one will include the Grunts and the Headhunters, and the other should include 2-4 Catapults and 3-6 Riders.
In the meantime, you'll feel the effects of the insubordination of Hellscream. He will arbitrarily attack one of the nearby human bases (3,4). From now on, you can expect regular attacks by human troops. Luckily for you, all the groups will be coming from the same side, but from now on you have to strengthen your defense - build some towers and defensive units to protect your base. You'll be attacked by the army that Hellscream had previously visited (if his attack was unsuccessful). During his raids, you can help him and speed up the destruction of the enemy post, but it's worth not demolishing all the buildings in such a base and leave him some objects to destroy. This way, Hellscream will be busy killing the remaining units and buildings in the base. He will not start fighting the next human army. In this simple way, you won't activate other enemies and gain more time.

After destroying or bypassing the base of blue enemy, begin your march towards the goblin laboratory (2). On your way, you'll meet several groups of ground-based opponents. These will be neutral troops, mostly centaurs. At the end of the path you will meet a group of harpies. Headhunters or Wolf Riders will be necessary to defeat them. Trolls don't have many health points, so it's better to attack with the help of Grunts and Riders who will use their nets to bring flying units down. After killing all guards, purchase two transporters and issue a command to move them to your base. You don't have to destroy other people's outposts or help your ally. All you have to do is bring the Zeppelins to your base to complete the mission.
