There is no clear answer to which weapon is the best, because in Undecember, the same weapons may differ significantly from each other. It all depends on your luck. However, there are a few factors that you should pay attention to.
Rarity
Weapons and pieces of equipment have their rarity. You will easily recognize it by the colors. From the weakest - Normal, Magic, Rare, Unique, Legendary. Of course, the more difficult to obtain something is, the more powerful it will be.
Compatibility
Not all weapons work with all runes. To check their compatibility, hover over the skill and look at the bottom of its card. You will see a list of tags that the skill is compatible with. If the weapon is not compatible with a given rune, you will see it highlighted in red.
Options
Both equipment and weapons (from Magic rarity up) have additional effects called Options. You will see them on the item card. Not all slots need to be filled. However, the Enchant process will let you change that. It is worth noting that they have their tiers - the higher, the better.
Tier and level
An item's level roughly tells you its strength. You do not want to exceed the level of your weapon and gear. Unless they are of higher rarities - Rare, Unique and Legendary - in this case, be careful with the changes.
Tier is represented by a blue number in the corner of the item's icon. It can also be seen on the information card of that item. It symbolizes the overall strength of the item and affects the level of any additional effects (options) mentioned earlier.
Quality - percentages when checking items
If you have seen percentages on an item and wonder what they are, they represent quality. The higher it is, the better the gear is than other items of this type.
If the percentage is high and the item suits your play style, even if it's rarity is Normal, you should consider keeping it and enchanting.
Enchant
Rarity, additional effects (options) and quality can be improved by enchanting the item. For this, you will need to find the right merchant in the city.
Items can be upgraded by spending the right Essence "currency". They come in many different types and their use depends on what you want to make and how rare the item you want to improve is. You can get them by doing missions, disassembling unnecessary gear, having enough luck during expeditions (loot) or by spending real money.
Unfortunately, it should be noted that luck is an important factor when enchanting, as many essences are random.
