Remnant From the Ashes: Character class - how to select? Remnant From the Ashes guide, walkthrough

Last update: 10 March 2021

This page of the Remnant From the Ashes guide has information about the available classes. You will learn when you can choose them, what are the 3 main classes and check their differences.

Choosing a class - when?

In Remnant: From the Ashes, we don't choose our character's class at the time of creation of the character. The ability to choose a character class (or rather its archetype) is only available during the first mission in Ward 13. This place is a kind of base where we can safely improve our character, equipment, create various items and restock with traders. The classes have the same statistics, and only differ with weapons and weapon mods. Nothing prevents you from playing a Hunter at close range. Weapons and weapon mods of other classes can be purchased from traders in Ward 13.

Classes list

In Remnant: From the Ashes we can select one of three initial classes - Remnant From the Ashes: Character class - how to select? - Basics - Remnant From the Ashes Guide

In Remnant: From the Ashes we can select one of three initial classes:

  1. Scrapper - specializes in short-range combat. Has a powerful shotgun that can deal big damage, a gun, and a heavy hammer. The weapon mod, Hot Shot, allows to change regular ammunition for fire ammunition, which has the chance to set enemies on fire and deal damage per second. This archetype is recommended for players who like to fight at close range using devastating attacks.
  2. Hunter - Hunter specializes in long-range combat. This class is equipped with a Hunting Rifle that allows you to eliminate enemies from a long range with a single shot, a pistol, and a sword for close encounters. This class also has access to the Hunter's Mark mod, which marks enemies so that both us and our allies can see them through walls. It also increases the chance of critical hit against the marked opponents. This archetype is recommended for players who like to quickly eliminate enemies from long range.
  3. Ex-Cultist - specializes in mid-range combat, supporting others in various ways. You can count this archetype as support because of the weapon mod Mender's Aura, which allows to heal ourselves and our allies within a mid-sized radius. This class also has a shotgun, pistol and a Scrap Hachet. This class is for people who like a diverse character - it's able to deal damage effectively on short and medium distance, and is also able to replenish the HP in critical situations.
