Find and investigate the killer's hideout | Case #405 Walkthrough Observer Guide
Last update: 17 August 2017
Open the nearby metal door and then walk down the short corridor to another door that is blocked by an overturned locker. Interact with it with the intention of restoring it to a vertical position, thus unlocking the further passage.
You will return to the corridor in which you previously used the hole in the wall. Now you can go to the newly unlocked door shown in the picture above, which is lit by a green lamp (this passage was made available by restoring the power supply).
You are in the new part of the basement and the way through it is very linear, although on the way you can find a new collectable photo. You must ultimately reach the hole in the floor next to cell 040. Jump over to it and start exploring the underground. The consecutive tunnels will lead the main character to the murderer's hideout and you will get updated guidelines there.
The hideout contains a computer (you can view the e-mails and photos which have been saved on it), a medical inhaler, two masks, animal tissue, hair and a tape recorder (the game will let you listen to the new recording). However, the most important finding is shown in the above picture and it is Adam's head hidden under a sheet. Finding it will quite unexpectedly lead to a conversation with a person who claims to be Adam; you will also receive two new tasks.
One of the unlocked objectives is optional, and it involves hacking Adam's mind by scanning the brain implant in his head and plugging into it. You can choose to take such a step against the warnings of the main character's son, or you can listen to his advice and skip this optional task.
If you take the risk associated with breaking into Adam's mind, there are several unusual scenes to play out. Start by interacting with the scanner and then head towards the Chiron tower. Once you arrive at the site, try to log into the database and hack the system, which you will fail to accomplish.
After you are moved to an apartment, turn on the TV. The first of the unusual games plays out here, it is reminiscent of Tetris. Try to avoid blocks that are falling from the ceiling, by moving sideways or forwards/backwards.
In the second game, you will travel through a tunnel and you will need to dodge to the sides in order to avoid colliding with various obstacles (spikes, lasers, etc.) appearing in the distance. As you play the game you will move faster and faster.
In the last, third of the games you have to travel around a labyrinth by making jumps and rotating by 90 degrees. The difficulty level will also gradually increase here. Initially, you only have to avoid the falling spikes, but in the later parts of this "mini-game" monsters will also start to appear, among other things, from which you should skilfully escape.
Regardless of how you did in all the games you will return to the murderer's hideout and you will be able to take on the new objective of the main storyline.
