Youtuber Compares Scenes From GTA 6 Trailer With Real Spots in Miami
Rockstar has very accurately reproduced Miami locations in Grand Theft Auto VI. A youtuber compared the real locations with scenes from the game's trailer.
We have known for some time that in Grand Theft Auto VI we will return to Vice City, a fictional city that is modeled on Miami. From the game's first trailer, you can read a lot of interesting things, such as the fact that the inspiration for the scenes created by Rockstar Games came from real events. However, this is not the only aspect that the developers have approached professionally.
Vice City vs. Miami
The very places we will visit in GTA VI are very similar to the locations from Miami. Youtuber Joel Franco was quick to find where exactly the scenes from the trailer take place, as he often visits these parts of Florida. In a video (below), he compared the real locations with scenes from the trailer.
The Youtuber at the beginning of the video showed the Venetian Causeway, connecting Miami Beach to main Miami. From drone shots, you can see how accurately Rockstar has reproduced the location - the same buildings from Florida are in the same places in Vice City.
Not everything is identical
Next we see the MacArthur Causeway, which was also featured in the trailer. However, its example shows that Rockstar has not decided to reproduce absolutely everything. In the scene from the trailer, a woman drives a sports car over a bridge, on the left of which is the Kaseya Center. In reality, this hall is located a few streets away and cannot be seen directly from the main road.
Joel Franco also takes us to Ocean Drive - the trailer shows a two-lane road in this location. The Youtuber mentions that indeed the street was like this before the pandemic, but now it is a "one-lane" road.
In the following minutes of footage, we observe the distinctive streets of the Wyndwood Neighborhood. Franco admits, however, that he had trouble finding the locations from the trailer in Miami, mainly because of the very short scenes and Rockstar's renaming of buildings. Similarities to some of the buildings can be seen only through the painted graffiti.
Beautiful locations in GTA VI
The Youtuber also showed long bridges leading to the Florida Keys archipelago. In GTA VI we will be able to drive to these islets, which were very accurately depicted in the trailer. At the end we see the edifice of a building - probably Tresor Tower - on which a woman in a bikini posed for the camera in the trailer as well as shots of the Everglades region and the Miami harbour.
Thanks to the above comparison, we know that in GTA VI we will visit a ton of beautiful Florida locations. In future trailers, we will most likely see more of Miami's brilliantly rendered locations, which gives us hope that traversing Vice City will be a truly wonderful experience.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to debut in 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
