The new Road House, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, is set on an island in Florida, Glass Key to be exact, but does one even exist in reality? Well, no. It was invented for the purposes of the film, so you have nothing to look for on the map and planning a vacation there makes no sense.

So where was this remake from Amazon Prime Video filmed? What may surprise some, not in Florida at all. Most of the scenes were shot in the Dominican Republic, more specifically in Punta Cana and Santo Domingo. So if you would like to see the places where the main character of the new Road House visited, you would have to go to the Dominican Republic.

That's not all, however, as Dalton's weigh-in scene before his fight with Jay Heiron was filmed during the weigh-in ceremony before UFC 285 in Las Vegas in March 2023. This was certainly a pleasant surprise for viewers of the event.

And where would Glass Key fit in if it existed?

The film guides viewers to where the main character of the remake has arrived. The Florida Keys is an archipelago of some 1,700 coral islands and islets, forming a chain 240 kilometers long. The Florida Keys are connected by bridges (including the most famous Seven Mile Bridge) and causeways over which a road runs.

One of the thousands of islands would be Glass Key, which is located south of the town of Marathon, occupying several islets somewhere in the middle of the Florida Keys. Locals pointed the protagonist in this direction, noting that Glass Key is located just beyond mile marker 77. This means that the location of the movie's action should be somewhere in the vicinity of the Lignumvitae Bridge.
