What Shiny Fish Is; Golden Water Creatures Explained
Shiny Fish are rare fish sought after by HoloCure players for their high value. In this guide we explain what they are and how to get them.
Fishing is a mechanic in HoloCure available in the Holo House mode. You can enter it after clearing the first stage of the game, and take part in various relaxing, casual activities such as decorating, farming and cooking. In this guide, we look at the aspect of the fishing minigame that allows you to gather a lot of funds in the title – Shiny Golden Fish and how to catch them.
What are Shiny Fish in HoloCure?
Shiny Fish are another name for Golden Fish that is frequently used in the fandom. Golden Fish are special, rare versions of regular fish that fetch a much higher price when sold to Bloop. They’re exactly 100 times more expensive, as for example a regular turtle can be sold for 450 Sand, while a Golden or Shiny Turtle is sold for a whooping 45000 Sand. Shiny Fish are very profitable, as Sand can be exchanged for Coins to buy other things in the game as well, but to balance it out, they very difficult to catch as well.
Do you need a Golden Rod to catch Shiny Fish in HoloCure?
Contrary to the popular belief, it is possible to catch Shiny Fish without using the Golden Rod. Casting with the Golden Rod only increases the odds of Shiny Fish appearing. Fans are theorizing that having a higher streak (chain) of fish caught in a row also makes it more likely to reel up a Golden Fish. However, some players report catching Golden specimens at low streaks, so it’s all up to chance.
Keep in mind, however, that restrictions on which rod can be used to catch which fish still apply if you’re not using a Golden Rod. So, if you want to be able to catch the full range of available Shiny Fish, you should be using at least the Atlantis Fishing Pole. There are no Golden Shark or Axolotl, but if you want to catch the regular versions of them, you need the Turkey Fishing Pole instead.
