We are Legion: Rome Announced
Polish studio Titanite Games and Gaming Factory announced an action game set in the glory days of the Roman Empire. We are Legion: Rome will enable us to play the role of a commander of a legionary unit, using a wide arsenal of tactical commands against the enemies of Rome.
Polish devs at Titanite Games and Gaming Factory announced that they are preparing a response to Ryse: Son of Rome. Apart from a few strategy games, Crytek's masterpiece was one of the last big titles set in the realities of the Roman Empire in the past few years. The developers are hoping to successfully break this trend. Depicting the fate of the Roman legionaries, We are Legion: Rome will be an action game with RPG elements, which will be released on PC, Xbox and PlayStatiom.
In We are Legion: Rome, we'll play as a member of a legionary unit that fights for the glory of Rome, conducting bloody conquests on lands belonging to barbarian tribes from the north. According to the developers, players will start the adventure as an ordinary soldier and advance in the military hierarchy over time, gaining command of comrades-in-arms and acquiring many new combat skills. The plot will be presented in the form of interactions with the other members of the unit in the military camp and in the form of letters to home, written by our protagonisat.
Character progression will depend on the chosen cohort and its preferred fighting style. Defensive troops will be equipped with shields to protect themselves from enemy blows and safely plan their next move. Fast and aggressive assault groups, in turn, rely on the strength of their attack and dangerous close combat. During bloody battles we'll be able to aggresively disarm our opponents, for example by cutting off their arms or legs.
The developers promise realistic visuals
During the campaign we'll try to stop as much as dozens of opponents at once. We'll face them on many different battlefields. The combat system is to rely on tactical solutions based on the commands we give. Devs announced inclusionof flanking maneuvers, tactical use of fire, siege machines and defending our position against successive waves of enemies.
We are Legion: Rome is to be released at the turn of 2021 and 2022. There is no doubt that works on the game are still at a very early stage, so it's hard to say whether the developers will manage to fulfill all the ambitious promises.
