Valorant Cheaters Despair as Bans are Upheld After the Launch
After the official launch of Valorant, the new online shooter from Riot Games, it turned out that the cheaters banned during the closed beta still cannot play. The cheaters are pouring out their griefs on the web, although the president of Riot indicated that they will not get a second chance.
In mid-May, one of Riot's employees - Philip Koskinas - informed of a wave of bans that took place during closed beta tests of the free online shooter Valorant. Nearly 9,000 people were banned, and when asked if the bans were linked to the users' hardware, Koskinas called them "soul bans" and said that they will be very difficult to avoid (more than standard hardware bans). Interestingly, with the game's official launch, it turned out that a significant part of the banned players still cannot play. The chaters are pouring out their griefs on the web and seem to be very surprised and depressed by the fact that the bans remained even after the end of closed beta. The rest of the community, however, is delighted (in the following thread on Twitter you will find several such screenshots).
It is also worth noting that Riot's CEO - Nicolo Laurent - has pointed out that for now the cheaters will not get a second chance.
Riot is assisted in the battle against chaters by its proprietary security app called Vanguard, which has been causing a lot of controversy from the very beginning. It launches with the start of the computer and works on the kernel level of the operating system, which caused a lot of indignation among the gamers. Its purpose is not to prevent such users from cheating, but to quickly identify them and make it difficult for them to return to the game.
And while it's a pleasure to see that the developers are dealing with it quite effectively, it is to be expected that with yesterday's official release of Valorant there will be many more cheaters in the game. Those banned ,ay eventually find a way to get around the bans, as Koskinas himself noticed earlier. Valorant is officially available for free only for PC users since June 2.
