Think Twice Before Getting These Tattoo in Baldur's Gate 3
Baldur's Gate 3 has a very extensive character creator, which enables you, among other things, to tattoo the character's face. Even in this regard, the developers have proven themselves masters of attention to detail.
Released in August, the full version of Baldur's Gate 3 attracted hundreds of thousands of players mainly by the enormity of possibilities it offers. In the game, every decision you make matters and can lead to completely different solutions. The first one is made by the player at the very beginning, creating an avatar in the character creator.
Non-obvious choices in the character creator
There is a choice of races, classes, various appearance options, including horn shape, skin color or tattoo designs. It is the latter that is worth paying attention to, as by choosing one of them, you may not have realized its significance.
As noted some time ago by a TikTok user known as thewingedbaron, in Baldur's Gate 3 there is a certain pattern of face tattoos that consists exclusively of runes. It turns out that these are letters from the Barazhad alphabet, which is used in some languages in the Dungeons & Dragons universe.
The individual runes on the tattoo were not set up randomly by the developers, as they form specific words. Knowing the Barazhad alphabet (or simply using the relevant websites for translating it), you can read them and thus realize that in reality few people would want to tattoo such words on their faces. The runes on the forehead stand for "Forehead," on the nose for "Nose," and on the cheeks for "Left Cheek" and "Right Cheek."
The devs were most creative, however, when making the runes on the neck, as they arrange the words "Larian Studios".
Although the tattoo in question looks nice and encourages with unusual runes, characters familiar with the Barazhad alphabet in the game could laugh at the character, who would dare to walk around with such words on their face. Unfortunately, it seems that at this point no character in the game reacts to the tattoos and does not ask what Larian Studios means. However, perhaps the developers will decide to change this in the future.
