The missing Warcraft adventure game released for free
Canceled 18 years ago, Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans has finally been released, or rather leaked online. The near-complete version of the game has been shared for free by a Scrolls of Lore forum user.
Back in the 1990s when adventure games (popularized by LucasArts and their Monkey Island series) were on top, Blizzard Entertainment wanted a share in the cake. This is how Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans was conceived. Unfortunately, the game never actually came out, as the project was canceled in 1998. Now, however, a pre-release build of Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans, with in-game cinematics, has been released for free by the Scrolls of Lore forum user Reidor. You can download the half-a-gygabyte file from this link.

Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans features the story of Thrall, an orc prisoner raised by human Lord Blackmoore. Having refused to betray his race and become a spy, Thrall needs to find a way to escape his prison so as to avoid execution, and then reunite the Horde clans against the Alliance.
There is no telling how Blizzard will react to the leak, so perhaps it is best to download the game while it’s still there. If you happen to miss that chance, you can find a video of Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans playthrough below (posted on YouTube by Lupich):
