The Last of Us PC Devs Respond to Players and Know of the Issues
The numerous problems plaguing The Last of Us on PC have not escaped the attention of developers at Naughty Dog. The developers have issued an announcement that they are working on an appropriate update.
Naughty Dog certainly didn't envision the PC debut of The Last of Us to be something like this. Players who decided to purchase the game face a a ton of problems - with poor optimization at the forefront. The community's complaints have not escaped the attention of the developers, who have issued a relevant announcement on the matter.
Naughty dog moves to the rescue
On its official website the devs announced that they are looking into the reports and are in the process of preparing an update, which will eliminate (hopefully):
- prolonged loading of shaders;
- performance and stability degradation when shaders are loading in the background;
- instability issues with older GPU drivers;
- failure to run the game despite meeting minimum requirements;
- possible memory leaks.
Wave of negative reviews
As you can see, the developers have to deal with some pretty serious problems. Before they are able put out the fire, however, The Last of Us will collect a large number of negative comments, big as it is and steadily growing. At the time of writing this news, Naughty Dog's work has received 5571 negative reviews on Steam which constitutes a score of 33% - the reception of the game is therefore "mostly negative.".
Troublesome collaborator?
One should not forget about an interesting aspect of the whole matter. The PC port of the game was assisted by Iron Galaxy studio. The team is known for its multiplayer game Rumbleverse, but a large part of its activity is preparing ports for various platforms. In the past it has already had problems with the preparation of PC game ports. The slip-ups include. Batman: Arkham Knight, which, as we know, was also far from perfect. In turn, the recently released Metroid Prime Remastered on Nintendo Switch worked out quite well for the studio.
