The Highrise Beginner's Guide
If you are starting your adventure with The Highrise then in this guide you will find tips for getting started. They will help you find your way around the game more easily.
The Highrise is a survival game in which we are locked in a skyscraper overrun by monsters. The full version of the game will launch on May 29. At the moment, however, anyone interested can try the demo. If you decide to do so, it's worth reading the following tips for getting started.
Keep an eye on water and food supplies
Hunger and thirst indicators are dropping rather quickly. You can notice this through the icons in the lower left corner of the screen. At the same time, supplies of water and food are severely limited - especially if you are playing in a group of several people. It is definitely easier to hit the resources needed for crafting.
Therefore, you need to keep an eye on them regularly and take every opportunity to collect additional supplies. However, you must remember that in the case of water, you need something to store it. So pick up empty bottles to fill them later in the bathrooms;
Also, cook the food you find and purify the water. This way you will avoid food poisoning.
Build a Workbench as soon as possible
Workbench is a very useful item. It is with its help that you will unlock crafting and you will be able to create better equipment for your characters.
Carefully search every room
The floors consist of a series of rooms. In each of them you can find valuable resources that will facilitate your survival. Therefore, always check everything that catches your eye. When doing so, remember two things:
- desks and cabinets can be opened. Inside them you may come across food and water storage bottles.
- Reclining chairs and office chairs are a source of materials.
Also keep in mind that when you hover the cursor over an item, the game will tell you what you can get from it.
Don't make noise
Monsters roaming the building are very sensitive to sound. Therefore, avoid making noise - walk instead of running. This will minimize the risk that you will draw attention to yourself. The volume level made by your character is shown by an indicator at the bottom of the screen.
Of course, random situations can also happen, such as breaking glass or creaking doors. In such cases, the appearance of a monster is inevitable. You then have two choices - crouch down and stay out of the creature's sight, or stand up and fight. If you play alone, however, the second option is very risky. This is because the opponent kills very quickly.
