The Game Awards 2019 Records Impressive Increase in Viewer Numbers

This year's edition of The Game Awards was a great success. Compared to the TGA 2018, the audience grew by 73%.

The Game Awards is getting more and more popular every year.

Last week, The Game Awards 2019 was held. The organizer of the event, Geoff Keighley, boasted of the results of this year's edition. The gala was watched live by 45 million people, which is 73% better than last year.

The event's popularity increase is impressive. Let's recall that in 2017, 11.5 million people sat in front of the screens, and a year later The Game Awards was watched live by 26.2 million viewers.

Next year will bring another edition of the event, but so far we do not know the exact date. It is usually released only a few months before the gala, so now we only know that The Game Awards 2020 will most likely take place in December.

This year's edition of the event was fruitful. In the course of the event such games as Fast & Furious Crossroads, Nine to Five, Convergence, Weird West, Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, Godfall, Sons of the Forest, Prologue, Bravely Default 2 or Hellblade 2 were announced. We also watched new trailers of The Wolf Among Us 2, Maneater, Humankind, Final Fantasy VII Remake, No More Heroes 3, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Gears Tactics and Ghost of Tsushima.

Although the biggest emotions were aroused by the trailers, the main goal of the gala was to award the prizes. The best game of the year was awarded to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, but most of the statuettes, as many as four, were won by Disco Elysium.
