We've finally lived to see the release of The Forgotten City, an exceptional title from the Modern Storyteller studio. It stands out from other games because it's basically a standalone version of popular mod for Skyrim. That's how we could get to know the story developed by the Australian team for the first time. Reviews posted online prove that some mods deserve to be developed into full-fledged games.
On Metacritic the PC version of The Forgotten City achieved a score of 83 points. The PS5 edition, on the other hand, can boast 87 points. Unfortunately, not enough reviews have yet been posted for the Xbox Series S/X and last-gen consoles to draw a reliable average. The ones that have been published so far, however, are overwhelmingly positive.

In the reviews, we can read that the strongest aspect of The Forgotten City is the plot. The story presented by the developers from Modern Storyteller is supposed to be incredibly engaging with numerous mysteries. It is complemented by interesting and memorable characters and credible and well-written dialogues. Although the narrative is the strongest point of the game, it doesn't mean that the gameplay itself doesn't present a similar level. Reviewers praise the satisfying exploration and the enjoyable combat system, which enables us break away from the constant learning of new plot details.
We can play the game on PC, Xbox Series S/X, PS5 and Xbox One and PS4. The Nintendo Switch version is scheduled for release in September.
