The Day Before Devs Shutting Down Game Servers; 'Without a Devteam, we've No Other Option'
The story of The Day Before is slowly coming to an end. Developers from the now-defunct Fntastic have announced that they will soon shut down the game's servers.
Online shooter The Day Before was supposed to be something unique in the MMO market, and indeed it was, just not in the way the developers announced. The game debuted in Early Access in dire technical condition and failed after only a few days, contributing to the closure of Fntastic. The game is still running, but will soon share the developers' fate.
The profile of The Day Before on X posted a message, in which we read that the game's servers will be shut down on January 22, 2024. On that day the last players will lose their ability to continue playing the game.
Further on, the developers reassure players who are still waiting for the promised refunds, claiming that they will appear "soon."
According to the developers, the project was doomed to "kick the bucket" due to the lack of a team to keep it alive.
The news of the closure of the servers will certainly not please online scalpers who benefited from the fact that the game was withdrawn from official distribution. As reported by Insider Gaming, there were offers on the web to sell Steam keys for as much as $200.
