'10 Years and Still Undefeated;' DayZ Devs Take a Jab at The Day Before Devs
Bohemia Interactive used the 10th anniversary of DayZ to comment on the current situation with the premature death of The Day Before.
Developers from Bohemia Interactive, responsible for, among other things, the development of DayZ, published a telling post on social media. In a post deceptively reminiscent of yesterday's statement from Fntastic, they recalled the 10th anniversary of the Early Access launch of the onlie hit.
At the end of the message, the developers have included a list with some landmark dates from the history of DayZ, crowning it with 2023 and adding: "10 years and still undefeated." This is also a reference to the aforementioned announcement by Fntastic, in which the studio listed the titles it had managed to release.
Not everyone finds it funny
A joke from The Day Before was not to everyone's liking. Some Internet users said that such jabs are out of place, since Fntastic's bankruptcy could mean that many people will lose money (they published their comments before Fntastic and Mykona's announcement concerning Steam refunds). Others, meanwhile, did not fail to mention that Bohemia Interactive is laughing at others, and the technical condition of DayZ still leaves much to be desired.
The fate of Fntastic was also commented on by the developers of Wasteland 3 from inXile Entertainment. They released a distinctive graphic depicting the protagonist of The Day Before, except that he has his mouth open and the caption reads: "We've been trying to contact you about the extended warranty." The post was accompanied by the text: "A reminder to always check your mouth for hidden messages."
In doing so, the creators are referring not only to the fate of The Day Before, but also refer to the trailer for Hideo Kojima's latest game presented during TGA, which contains a hidden message.
