In the history of video games there is no shortage of cases when a given title was heavily inspired by other, usually very popular games. It is then difficult to avoid similarities, if only in the trailers announcing a given title. The problem arises when the inspiration begins to resemble a copy-and-paste method. Such a suggestion appeared online in the context of the new gameplay trailer for The Day Before. Developers from Fntastic have been accused of copying from trailers of such titles as GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 or Cyberpunk 2077.

When inspiration goes too far

Gameplay trailer of The Day Before presents itself impressively. There is no shortage of action, a world full of details or nice visuals. The skilled eye of youtuber Randomly also spotted some very clear similarities to the aforementioned Rockstar hits and Cyberpunk 2077.

According to Randomly, this includes not only the fact that some frames from The Day Before very much resemble excerpts from the trailers of the aforementioned games, because it's hard to have full control over that, but also the words spoken by the narrator. Sometimes they sound as if they were taken directly from the presentations of other well-known games.

While the similarities in the narration compared to GTA 5 can be ignored, because they are not so pronounced, in the case of RDR2 and Cyberpunk 2077 they are almost identical. This was also noted by users commenting on the video above.

"This was probably written by AI. Such are the times we live in," writes Sheeg

"As soon as the video started, I felt a strange sense of déja vu," reports yourmom9200

"They stole the logo from The Last of Us, the gameplay trailer from Call of Duty, posters from The Division and gameplay videos from RDR2, GTA 5 i Cyberpunk 2077. There is no way this game is real," concludes elpolodiablo5486

Similarities continue

This is not the first time the developers of The Day Before arouse suspicions due to similarities. This February, the game was accused of ripping off Call of Duty, as aptly pointed out by a user known on Twitter/X as Chroma. He juxtaposed, side by side, frames from The Day Before and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

The Day Before was also accused of being too similar to The Last of Us, The Division, and even SnowRunner.

Developers plan to release The Day Before on December 7 in early access, but it is not yet certain whether the game will actually debut then.
