The Binding of Isaac Repentance Release Date Revealed

Developer Edmund McMillen announced the release date of The Binding of Isaac: Repentance, the final expansion for the roguelike The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. A new trailer for the upcoming DLC was also released.

We finally got to know the release date of The Binding of Isaac: Repentance, the last expansion for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. The franchise's father, Edmund McMillen, announced that the expansion will be released on March 31, 2021. Earlier, Steam had listed December 31, 2020, but many people suspected that this was only a temporary date. These assumptions turned out to be correct.

The Binding of Isaac: Repentance will debut on March 31 exclusively on PC. There are also console versions in development, but we will wait longer for them. At present, the devs are not ready to announce their planned release date. A new trailer has also been released, available above.

The project will be a non-standalone add-on, so the full version of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth will be required to play. The devs promise that it will be a huge expansion, more like a full-sized sequel than a standard add-on.

The DLC will offer an alternative storyline, with a new final boss and a unique ending. The Binding of Isaac: Repentance will enrich the game with over 130 items, more than a hundred previously unknown enemies, and twenty-five bosses. We'll be able to control two additional characters, face five fresh challenges and over a hundred achievements. Five thousand new room designs will be added.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is available on PC, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, Switch and iOS. It's not known exactly which of these platforms the expansion will be coming to, but we expect that in addition to PC, Repentance will be available on PS4, XONE and Nintendo Switch as well.
