Cyberpunk Action RPG The Ascent Launches Today

Today marks the release of the first game by the independent studio Neon Giant - the isometric action RPG The Ascent. The game impresses with cyberpunk vibes, an extensive world and beautiful graphics.

The story takes place in the distant future. We will learn the history of the planet Veles, controlled by a sinister corporation called The Ascent Group. The futuristic city, which the player will explore, has the shape of a tower and is divided into districts - the upper floors are reserved for the upper classes, and the bottom floors are slums. Our hero lives on the lower levels, who is a debt slave to the company that rules the world. The action begins when the corporation that controls everything suddenly goes bankrupt for some mysterious reason. As a consequence various criminal groups and other companies try to take control of the city, and a bloody war for power begins. The player's task will be to climb the subsequent districts of the agglomeration to discover what happened and why the world was plunged into chaos.

Along with the development of the story, our character will have to fight crowds of enemies, while acquiring various weapons, experience points and deadly gadgets. Some NPCs will be friendly towards us and will give us additional tasks. The plot can be explored alone or with up to three other players in local or online cooperation - the game offers cross-play between PC and Xbox. The game can be finished in about 15-20 hours, but it provides a lot of side activities so the fun can last much longer.

The game is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and looks really beautiful. The game supports ray tracing and DLSS, which adds even more charm to the dark city.

The title will be released on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. From the time of release the game will also be available in the library of Xbox Game Pass.
