Taking on Too Many Side Quests in Dragon’s Dogma 2 Has Consequences. Not Only for Us but Also for NPCs
As we approach the release of Dragon's Dogma 2, more and more information about the highly anticipated RPG is reaching us. The latest news concerns side quests.
Dragon's Dogma 2 will offer players a world four times larger than the first game in the series. As a result, the number of available side quests will also increase. Before we eagerly dive into solving the side problems of this land, we need to keep in mind one detail -- the game won't tolerate marauders.
As noted by Reddit user Strange_Music (via TheGamer), the passage of time in Dragon's Dogma 2 will have a significant impact on some of the game's side quests. This means that if we undertake the mission of completing such a quest, excessive procrastination will have "unintended consequences."
Usually I just take every quest and forget about them until later. Seems like I won't be able to do that in DD2 and honestly, it's kind of refreshing. I'll actually have to pay attention and not overload myself with quests. Just like on RL -- Strange_Music commented on his discovery.
Based on the information provided by another internet user, these quests will be marked with an hourglass in the journal so that players are aware that they will have a certain amount of time to complete them. After this time, the NPC involved in the side quest may, for instance, die.
Speaking of death, any NPC in Dragon's Dogma 2 can die. Although we will be able to resurrect the deceased using the Wakestones known from the first installment, obtaining them will require some effort.
In any case, players need to understand the significance of certain quests and their potential repercussions.
Pawns made by famous creators
Those familiar with Dragon's Dogma are aware that Capcom's game offers a distinctive system of renting the so-called Pawns from other players. This feature will also be available in the second part, with a special option to use the services of characters created by YouTubers and influencers. These characters will appear for a limited time and their rental won't require Rift Crystals. However, you'll only be able to hire a unique companion until you reach level 10 in the game (via PCGamesN).
Dragon's Dogma 2 will be released on March 22 for PC, PS5, and XSX/S.
