The Day Before takes us on a journey to a world where a mysterious virus has turned people into fast, bloodthirsty, and deadly monsters. Those who managed to survive must fight for survival every day, competing with each other for food, clothing, weapons or even cars. As the "new normal" here means that potential danger lurks around every corner, wandering alone is hardly advisable.
In The Day Before, we'll travel (on foot or by car, which requires fuel) through a devastated open world. Despite the fact that in the video published by the devs we can see up close only a fragment of an American city, screenshots available, among others, on Steam reveal that we'll also find ourselves in the wilderness or abandoned military complexes.
Regardless of the place where we'll find ourselves, the driving force of our actions will be the search for resources and gear. Necessary items can be traded in the colonies of survivors, and the money earned through trade will be used to purchase more useful items. During the exploration we will have to constantly be on our guard, becausewe can come across a group of not necessarily friendly players at any time. If it comes to shooting (the developers promise that they have prepared an extensive arsenal of "realistic weapons"), things will probably take an even worse turn, because the sound of gunfire will easily attract hordes of zombies. In addition, even if we manage to come out of the clash victorious, the wounds received in battle can cause that we will simply bleed out. For this reason, it will be always worth having a supply of bandages.
The Day Before looks very pleasing to the eye. The footage we've seen so far shows that the title has nothing to be ashamed of, even when compared to the aforementioned Tom Clancy's The Division, in terms of location design and 3D model quality. Although the gameplay at one point begins to swarm with zombies, it is currently unknown how numerous their hordes will be.
